30th international senology meetings in Strasbourg
The Strasbourg International Senology Meetings return for the thirtieth consecutive year. They will take place on October 3 and 4, 2024 at the Aubette, the European Parliament and the Région Grand Est.
At a time when “Pink October” is celebrating its 30th anniversary and once again raising society’s awareness of the problem of breast cancer, we wanted to organize two days of meetings as part of the 30th International Senology Meetings in Strasbourg, to outline an inventory of senology around the world and reflect together (health professionals, patient associations, public officials) on the challenges that we will collectively have to face in the years to come.
Why me?
The first day of our discussions will be devoted to risk factors and in particular the impact of the environment on breast cancer. This day is marked by a question: “Why me?”, because it is certainly one of the first questions our patients ask themselves when they receive a diagnosis of breast cancer. By asking this question, it is the patients that we put at the center of all our discussions, because they can be actors in the health of their breasts.
Who will operate on me?
As for the second day, two other questions will be the breadcrumbs: “Who will operate on me?” Specialists from all over the world will come to Strasbourg to demonstrate their practices, patient care and training of surgical teams. This is a major public health issue. Indeed, it is fundamental to strengthen the training of breast surgeons, taking into account the increase in the incidence and prevalence of breast cancer, the complexity of surgical procedures, the legitimate requirement for oncological quality and aesthetics of patients and finally the right to the best. health for all.
Cared women, caring women
How do caregivers and surgeons view their profession, innovation, their place in the world of health, research or even teaching? The feminization of medicine and surgery is underway: what will be the consequences for the medicine of tomorrow?
